Pregnancy

Chiropractic care throughout pregnancy assists in balancing muscles, joints, and ligaments of the spine and pelvis. There is a specific technique called the Webster Technique that is used by chiropractors to remove torsion or any misalignment of the pelvis to allow more room and proper positioning of the uterus. Babies can then assume a better position for a healthy natural birth and a more relaxing pregnancy for both mother and baby.

Children

As children grow and change there is a need for chiropractic check-ups to assure proper alignment and function of their spines and nervous systems. Kids have many falls and tiny tumbles starting as early as their first step. These falls can cause slight changes in their growing spines sometimes with pain and other times without. Pain is only one indicator, but posture, weakness, loss of range of motion, and frequent illnesses are some other reasons for a spinal exam. There are gentle techniques that are used on the pediatric spine. Kids typically like their chiropractic adjustments. The birth process, even in a natural vaginal birth, can cause trauma to a newborn's spine . It is important for every baby to get a newborn exam especially if the labor was long, any extraction tools (i.e. forceps) were used, and for c-section babies. Spinal misalignments can be corrected early to prevent life long structural and functional problems. The system of nerves that are contained within the spinal column supply every muscle, organ, tissue and cell in the body. Mothers and fathers of a child with a spinal misalignment or subluxation may notice any number of symptoms in their child. In addition to spinal health we also understand the importance of nutrition. Everything your child puts into his or her mouth effects their growing body and brain. A healthy diet full of fruits vegetables and other whole natural foods will help them to maximize their genetic potential. Vitamins and nutritional supplements are also recommended when there are certain nutrients the child needs that they are not getting enough of on a daily basis.
